While talking to DailyMail.com, Sandy revealed that her training style combined 'mobility, ballerina Pilates and strength.'

The trainer - who has been in the industry for more than three decades - revealed that she had gone through all of the trendy workout phases and found that the most effective were the basics.

The personal trainer gushed about strength training as she noted that although it had been marketed towards men, women were really the ones who needed it.

She told DailyMail.com: 'Women need strength training so bad, and it feels good for women to do endurance. It feels good for us to run. But, sitting down and doing hard strength will actually help women become stronger.

'Women should be going towardsthe strength training part of the gym. And I want men going more towards the aerobic part because they'll always choose strength, and women will always choose aerobic.'

She noted that most workout classes involved a series of 'floor core' movements such as crunches or leg lifts and while those are important, according to Sandy, they wouldn't get you to your fitness goals because they only targeted 'surface level' muscles.

The luxury personal trainer added: 'What I'm really trying to do is get women to go back to old-fashioned lifting and understanding that learning the hinge and the deadlift is the right path and it's not a bunch of leg lifts, stuff like that that don't really get you anywhere.'

As body trends change throughout the years - from heroin chic to curvy hips - Sandy said that she hadn't had to adapt her workouts very much due to the efficiency of strength training.

'The movements are always the same. They're deadlifts, back squats, hinges, presses and pull ups,' Sandy revealed.

She told DailyMail.com that she taught all of her clients to do the same five moves, which included deadlifts.

Deadlifts are one of the most functional and basic exercises, and it sees you bending down, picking up a weight bar and lifting it back up.

The second exercise swears by is back squats, which are also known as barbells. They are performed by standing with your feet shoulder-width apart, holding a weighted barbell on your upper back and squatting.

Another workout she preaches is doing hip hinges, where you stand with your feet shoulder-width apart and push your hips and butt back while hinging forward until your torso is parallel with the floor, pause, then return your hips to starting position.

For presses, make sure your back is straight and tall, then extend the weighted barbell above your head and bring it back down.

When doing pull ups, bend your elbows and pull your body up toward the bar until your chin is over it.

Now, the luxury personal trainer is lifting the lid on how those who aren't the rich and famous can achieve their dream body

She claimed that no matter your body composition goal, her five-workout plan will get you there - adding that it all depends on the amount of weight you're lifting.

And while she didn't specify the amount of reps people should be doing, Sandy said that she had 'minimum strength goals' for her clients, including Ivanka.

She told DailyMail.com: 'My minimum strength goals I strive for with my clients include: five strict push ups, two strict pull ups, one bodyweight barbell back squat, one bodyweight barbell deadlift, and one 45-pound barbell overhead press.'

The personal trainer noted that you should be doing these five workouts four times a week, for one hour each day.

Having been in the industry for decades, Sandy admitted that she can spot a beginner in a matter of seconds due to how much cardio they do.

She confessed that the 'biggest mistake' she sees gymgoers doing is overstaying their time on the cardio.

The personal trainer explained that women put too much emphasis on their sweaty sessions on the treadmill.

She noted that although she knows most women headed to that particular exercise machine because they were intimidated by the other areas of the gym, there were other ways to get rid of your fears.

Previously, she showed off Ivanka's workout routine in a video shared to Instagram

'A lot of women go straight to the treadmill because they are unsure of the floor and I totally understand that,' she said.

The personal trainer advised: 'What I would do is grab a yoga mat or grab a corner on the floor somewhere, and then get situated on that floor. Start doing some stretching, start scoping the area because it can seem overwhelming when you first walk in.

'Give yourself like an extra five or 10 minutes to get your bearings, then decide where you're gonna go next. What I like to do is set up all my things, and so now I'm set in one spot, and it just helps me not move around the gym too much.

'Really make yourself a spot where you feel like you can stay for a while, thatwill help make you more comfortable to go grab [weights] and bring them back.'

Lastly, the fitness pro says that what you are eating plays a big part in how you toned your body is.

And while many people believe fasting is the best way to shed off weight, Sandy revealed that you should ditch all the trending dieting fads.

She explained that instead of giving up any food groups, you should be focusing on upping your protein intake.

She told DailyMail.com: 'I don't want women starving. I want them to keep that constant flow of protein going through their bodies.'

Sandy said that she told her clients to have '20 grams of protein every two to three hours.'
